Rose Gold Bomber Jacket

Happy Friday, friends! This was our last full day in Valley Forge and again, it was absolutely spectacular weather. I took Ava over to Washington's Headquarters (the photos were taken at the train station a few feet away) where she could play and frolock in the leaves that had fallen to the ground. There was this beautiful golden yellow tree that had dropped a good amount of leaves and that's where we spent most of our time. It's also where the last photo here was taken. She really enjoyed herself! I also met some lovely people who also ended up being photographers. The one, Mike, had offered to take some photos of Ava and I with my camera for me. Thank you so much again Mike!! He took this last photo and absolutely captured the whole feeling of our trip. Diane was also taking some photos that day and ended up capturing some candid shots of Ava and I in the leaves. Thanks again for sending those along to me Diane!

This outfit is a glam version of your everyday casuals. That's what some metallic accessories will do for you! My favorite metallic has always been rose gold. It's a great alternative to yellow or white gold with your jewelry too. This bomber jacket is made from a quality satin and is fully lined. It was perfect for keeping me warm and stylish on a fall day. I actually never took it off the whole day. I'm wearing a US2 for reference. The best part? It's under $30! I've seen some other rose gold bomber jackets that are much higher priced and look exactly the same.

Valley Forge Layering

One of my favorite trips that my dad and I take each year is to Valley Forge. The national park is beyond beautiful with scenic views every where you turn. I am always at peace when I visit the park and find it to be so relaxing. Only a few minutes down the road is the famous King of Prussia mall and shopping district. You would never know there is a city or even a larger one (Philadelphia) nearby when you're actually at the park. It's a world onto itself.  I have a very special place in my heart for the area since Justin and I had lived nearby early in our relationship and then my dad and I started taking this weekend trip for his podiatry seminars.

The weather for the trip was insanely gorgeous. Clear blue sapphire skies with the golden sun shinning down creating warm days that are usually hard to find in November. A simple blazer was enough to be comfortable throughout the day. I wanted a relaxed weekend country look for being around the park using a red, pink, and blue color combo. An easy way to layer that isn't too bulky is to start with a tissue thin turtleneck followed by a button down shirt either tucked in or not. Top that off with a blazer and you're all set!

Whenever I travel, I always dress for the destination in mind. My dad, Ava, and I all traveled down to Valley Forge this past Friday for a seminar. I always go to the park and explore all the beautiful scenery it has to offer. Knowing that I'll be doing quite a bit of walking, I opted for flat boots that would be practical for the fall weather. There's nothing quite like seeing all of the beautiful leaves together in one place, whether they be still on the trees or blanketing the ground. There was a heavy fog lifting when we arrived that gave a mystical feeling. I'm always drawn to plaid in the fall, or any time of the year really, and wanted to layer it in a cozy glam faux fur vest. I'm been getting a lot of miles out of vests lately, you can never go wrong with them! The weather was cool, but getting warmer in the afternoon when I could simply take off the vest and be comfortable. To add another touch of elegance, I added this pearl crystal statement necklace from Humble Chic. I've been wearing this a lot lately since it goes with everything and adds class to any look. This would be a great necklace for the holidays as either a gift or to add some sparkle to your look!

Travel Log

Valley Forge

For the past few years my dad and I have been making a mini vacation out of his seminars for work. He usually goes to the Valley Forge one, to my delight, and we always have a great time. While he's at the seminars, I'll go to the King of Prussia Mall or go down to Valley Forge to walk around. This year, we had the Silver Beaver awards dinner while we were in Valley Forge, so we had to make a trip back up home and then back down in the same day. We always get out to eat once or twice on the trip. This year and last we went to Creed's Seafood and Steak. It has a great atmosphere with cozy seating and a menu to rival any big city. I usually get the Scottish Salmon. Our hotel has the best bistro in it, with booths that have tv's built into the walls. Breakfast and sometimes dinner are a must there. The nice thing about Valley Forge in the beginning of November are the leaves still being on the trees. Up in NEPA, most of the leaves are down and any that are still hanging on have lost their brilliance. I have so many memories of Valley Forge and the general area surrounding it, whether it be from these trips or when I lived there for a few months, this area will always have a special place in my heart.
