Good morning, friends! I wore this look while Ava and I went to go see the new Sprider-Man: Far From Home movie yesterday. It was really good! Ava and I are big fans of all of the superhero movies with Spider-Man having a special place in both of our hearts.

While I tend to dress up a great deal of the time, I also love good casual basics, with this look being ideal for a fun summer night out! A blue and white color combo is quintessential for summertime and one of my favorites. The button down top has a collar, cute pocket patch in the front, and a tie knot at the hem. The fabric is so comfy and not see through at all. It fits true to size.

I also finished up the new season of Stranger Things and wow, Hopper’s speech at the end! Ugh, I could not stop crying. Everyone else I talked to that has finished up season three was the same way. Who is the “American” at the end though?! I have my theories, haha, and cannot wait for season 4 next year!

Wishing my mom a very happy birthday in heaven today too! She would have been 62. I know she is looking down on all of us, especially Ava, smiling so big at getting to watch her grow. I see so much of my mom in Ava too, it’s truly amazing. Her legacy of love, kindness, and never ending strength live on in my family and I am forever grateful to have had her as my role model and mom.

One of my favorite photos of her at Rusty Rudder. She was so cool! If you look, all of us are actually in this photo too. My brother and dad are reflected in her sunglasses and I’m off to the left side lol.

Exploring A Winter Wonderland

Similar Red Jacket || Plaid Shirt || Fleece Vest || AG Skinny Jeans || Similar Socks || Duck Boots || Similar Trapper Hat || Similar Red Gloves || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Stella & Dot Ring ||

Good morning and happy Tuesday, friends! Did everyone stay warm over the weekend? We finally broke the freezing streak of single digits and reached temperatures in the 20s yesterday. You know what, it actually felt warm, which is crazy since it was only in the 20’s! Hey, at this point, i’ll take what I can get! I also went to go see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which I’ll get into in a minute. Basically, I am fascinated with this movie. I’m a long time Star Wars fan, but this specific one really got me excited to watch and dissect it. If you haven’t seen it yet, beware, spoilers are ahead!

Ive mentioned this numerous times before, but snowy winter wonderlands are my FAVORITE to photograph. The scenery is always so magical with a certain bit of whimsy dancing just upon the surface. This has been my go-to outfit lately when adventuring outdoors. It’s not only warm with its many layers, but also totally chic! My favorite part is the trapper hat. I mean, how adorable is it?! I’ve has this one for quite some time now and always grab it when the temperatures plunge. There are so many cute options out right now like this patterned one, this faux fur one, or this quilted one

Ok, now onto my love for the new Star Wars movie. Warning, SPOILERS! I will admit that when The Force Awakens came out in 2015, I had mixed feelings about it. I definitely liked it, but I wasn’t totally sold on the new characters. They did eventually grow on me though. Kylo Ren bothered me the most. I could not believe he was the new Darth Vader. WHAT?!? No way. Vader is one of the coolest cinematic characters in all of film history. Kylo was like this man child who threw tantrums and looked emo. He killed Han Solo, oh my goodness, my eyes bugged out my head when that happened. Nooooo. In any case, I didn’t necessarily like him. I did think his relationship with Rey was interesting though. Not that there was much to go on in TFA, but something was up with them.

Fast forward two years with TLJ premiering and I’m giddy as a schoolgirl to go see it. A lot of people did not like this newest addition because it didn’t feel like Star Wars, which, yes and no. The new director, Rain Johnson, did take the movie in a different direction, but I actually liked it. Now, half of the movie was kind of unnecessary and didn’t really move the key parts of the plot forward, namely the whole Finn and Rose casino mascarade, but I like Finn and the visuals were dazzling to see. The big parts of the story were Luke and the palpable chemistry between Kylo and Rey. At first, I didn’t like what they did with Luke. He was cantankerous and looked like grizzly Adams. He wanted to get rid of the Jedi Order and basically just die on the island of Ach-To. Of course, he does come back to help in the end and eventually dies after doing so. Note, no one kills him. He is at peace and has fulfilled his purpose and simply fades away. That is how Jedi’s typically pass on. He also did expend a tremendous amount of energy using the force to teleport himself to Crate where the Resistance and the First Order were about to have a showdown thanks to a massive canon. There is a very poignant moment where he looks out to the horizon and sees the two suns setting with John Williams beautiful score playing right before he passes. When we first saw Luke as a young man in A New Hope and he was about to embark on his Jedi journey, he was looking out to the horizon with two setting suns setting and the very same John Williams score playing. It was a full circle moment and beautifully done.

Now, onto the juiciest part of the movie, which in my opinion was perfectly done. The Kylo (Ben) and Rey relationship. #Reylo until the end! I am shipping so hard on them right now, haha. The chemistry between them is literally off the charts and their “force chats” were so believable and filled with raw emotion. They made the simple act of briefly touching hands feel so intimate. It’s a forbidden romance of course, he is “evil” and she is good. Darkness and light. There is conflict in Kylo though where light still remains. It was nice to see some of his humanity in this film too. That had me looking at him differently and not comparing him to Vader. The Snoke death scene and fight that follows it, OMG!!! The sexiest and best scene in all of Star Wars history. No lie. That was my favorite scene in the whole movie. The way they fight together, perfectly in sync and always checking to make sure the other is alright. The only way for there to be balance in the force is for light and dark to balance one another out. Neither side can prevail, which is what happened in Return Of The Jedi. This fact alone has me hoping that Rey and Kylo can come together in the end, episode IX (2019 release hopefully) and balance everything out. It’s there, Kylo loves Rey, but Rey loves Ben, who Kylo used to be. His birth name. The good side of him before he turned into Kylo Ren with the dark side. There’s a ton of subtlety and innuendos, which is what makes Star Wars great. You have to dissect and look further than what is on the surface.

Yellow Sweater With Pockets!

Love Winnie James Sweater c/o || Olive Green Jacket || AG Skinny Jeans || Karen Walker Sunglasses || Tignanello Bag c/o || Tory Butch Riding Boots || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring ||

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! I'm pretty excited about this yellow sweater as it has not only a beautiful color, but pockets on the front (enter the heart eye emoji here)! I'm a sucker for pockets and find this sweater to be quite unique. Everyone is used to a hoodie having the front pouch, but having a sweater with pockets not only has the same feeling, but also has an overall chicer and more refined appeal. I've had my eye on many yellow/mustard colors for fall too. The color pairs wonderfully with midnight blue, olive, camel, and burnt oranges. This sweater does have a loose fit. Very comfortable, but not form fitting if that's what you're looking for. I'm wearing a size small.

Don't forget to use the code LOVEAMANDA for 15% off of your Love Winnie James order! The code is good until October 21st.

The Olive Green Cardigan

Hello and good morning, friends! It's the start of a brand new week and I'm feeling especially rejuvenated after the lovely weekend we had. The leaves are starting to turn too! I'm excited about that and cannot wait for the peak. I believe it's supposed to be around the 16th-19th if you live in PA.

There is something about a cardigan that just screams fall to me. Perhaps its because you can snuggle up in one when the weather gets chilly. Its also a nice option when a jacket is simply too heavy. This cardigan is lightweight making it great for the transitional weather or for layering. Olive green is one of those classic fall colors too. It has some wonderful deep pockets too. I'm wearing a size small for reference. The light washed distressed ankle jeans fit amazingly well! There are only a few brands of jeans that fit my petite frame comfortably and these were a nice surprise. I'm wearing a size 24. I usually go for a darker wash, but wanted to try the lighter color, which I'm thinking will pair well with similarly light colors such as blush, light gray, white, and cream.

Now, onto the fun part! Love Winnie James, where both the cardigan and jeans came from, is offering a discount code for 15% off of your entire order! The code is LOVEAMANDA. Also, be on the lookout for an instagram giveaway I'm doing for a $50 gift card to Love Winnie James

A Weekend Walk

Red Jacket c/o || Stripped Top || Skinny Jeans || Tan Suede Boots || Kate Spade Bag || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Lip Color ||

Hello all and happy Friday!! One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is take walks and enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. There's nothing like exploring the great outdoors! The fall offers some of the best weather to go out and explore in, which I try to take full advantage of as much as I can. I wore this red jacket from Chicwish on one of my recent walks to keep warm during the chilly afternoon. I can't get over the color! I love a good pop of red to brighten up an outfit. It fits slightly large, but the tie at the waist helps with that. It's not large enough to change sizes. The pockets are nice and deep too. You know I have a thing for pockets, haha.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Seeing Stars

Star Cardigan c/o || Tank Top || AG Skinny Jeans || Pink Loafer Mules || Tory Burch Bag || Sunglasses || Star Drop Earrings c/o || Rose Gold Love Bangle || MAC Lip Color || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring ||

Good morning, friends! I can hardly believe that it is September already! Speaking of, I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day holiday. I actually had my first PSL of the season yesterday and it was so delicious. While I'm sad to see summer dwindling down, I'm also getting excited for all of the fall activities we have planned. Fall is always an extremely busy time of the year for us. As you know, we've been experiencing some early fall weather, which means cozy cardigans and sweaters! This navy blue cardigan with bright white stars on it from Chicwish is fun and unique all while keeping you warm. It reminds me of the night sky too, which is awesome. I've always been fascinated by the stars and the moon. It has an oversized fit (I'm wearing a S/M)and costs under $55. The star cardigan evokes a bit of magic to any outfit its paired with!

Eyelash Lip Print T-Shirt

Good morning, friends! This was one of my favorite recent casual looks that I've worn. I especially love elevated casual looks when I'm traveling because, let's be honest, I'd rather be comfortable when I'm walking around and sight seeing then not. A good portion of the trips I've taken over my lifetime end up being more adventure driven then relaxing, haha. Anyway, this look is perfect for your weekend wear or for a weekend getaway to a city. I've had my eye on this eyelash and lipstick print t-shirt for quite some time now. It's absolutely adorable and a fun update on the classic white tee. I'm wearing an XS for reference. This tee is also only $11!

I've also been looking for a classic denim skirt to add to my wardrobe and fell in love with this one. The buttons up the front have an updated feel from the classic 90s version everyone used to wear. I remember rocking mine back in the day! I'm wearing a size small, which fit snug. I wouldn't size up though, just something to be aware of. For under $15, this skirt is such a steal! I also switched out my straw bag later in the day for this camera bag. If you're a photographer or blogger, this bag is for you! I love its whimsical charm. How cool is the tassel strap too?!

Embroidered Jean Jacket // Jean on Jean

Good morning, friends! It's hard to believe I was wearing this outfit only a few days ago and now there is one foot of snow on the ground! The weather has been all over the place, can you tell how windy it was when I was shooting this?!, but I'm hoping this is the last of the snow and Spring will officially be on its way.

Yesterday's post was all about incorporating an embroidered top into your wardrobe for an easy casual spring outfit and some tips on how to transition it to a wear to work outfit. Today follows the same theme with an embroidered jean jacket, which is an absolute go-to for me for most of the year. Jean jackets are one of those staple pieces that never go out of style and always look effortlessly chic. This one is for $30 and looks great with a variety of different looks. Think a little black dress with this jacket over it or paired with a gray sweater and some black skinny jeans. I went with a jean on jean look, which looks good when you pair a darker and lighter pair together, a white button down, and some striped sneaks. I also straightened my hair for the first time in about 14 years using this straightener. I typically leave my hair naturally wavy or curl it. I actually like how it turned out! I may start straightening my hair more often now.
